Please read msg below from Miss Fitzsimmons

The Health Promoting Schools Team is looking for a representative from TY to join the student committee. Adam Graham is already on the committee but we would like another male representative on the team. The theme we are working on is Healthy Eating and Active Living. A lot of TY students helped out during the European Week of Sport and if this an area you'd be interested in, then you could be a great addition to the committee. The school is hoping to be awarded the Health Promoting Schools flag at the end of this year and there will be recognition given to the committee members at Prize-giving. This would also be a good thing to discuss at your end of year interview. Please give your name to Ms Fitzsimons or Ms MacEoin if interested.

Congratulations to Emma Burns, Orlaigh Carr and Ben Carr who will be representing the school in Lithuania next week as part of an Erasmus+ school partnership involving our partner schools in Spain, Germany, Belgium, Finland and Lithuania.

Thanks

Miss Fitzsimmons

Portfolio information - what it is all about

https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B8NdsDREQQT4cDh5dmU4TGhUS2c/view?usp=sharing

Please remember that there are examples of portfolios and scrap books in where u have computers - have a look and be aware of what u have to do

Thanks

Check out these videos

http://www.loretomilford.com/transition_year.html

Please check out these videos - this is from the end of year presentation last year - you will be required to complete a 3 minute presentation like this - if not better - at your end of year interview. You can start working on it now at the start of the year and you can add different bits in then as you go along. There will be different teachers along the way who will help you. This presentation will be in addition to your portfolio, scrap book and any other activities that you will complete along the way. So get working and I expect to see some excellent presentations at the end of the year - your presentation can take any format - but it true to say that you would probably have to complete it on some kind of computer format.

Best of luck

Generally there is a 2 week period of getting started up once back to school.

If students are ready to start on Friday, September 9th then they will receive the necessary letter and an attendance sheet from either Miss Corless or Miss McGee during the scheduled PFW classes.
Therefore, please make contact with your first employer to confirm your start date.

Those who have yet to finalise their first placement are encouraged to do so as all students are expected to be placed and working on Friday, September 16th.

Best of luck with the year
